Curtis, Justus, & Zahedi, LLC’s lawyers have experience with water rights in numerous western states. We have resolved many types of disputes involving every major river basin in Colorado and also assist clients in water matters in Utah. We represent clients with a wide range of objectives spanning from obtaining water rights for single-family dwellings to developing major water projects, involving dozens of parties, significant legal and factual disputes, major infrastructure, and complex surface and groundwater interactions.
We also have substantial experience investigating and litigating groundwater issues, including disputes among well owners and development of recharge projects and plans for augmentation. Finally, we assist clients in monitoring other water developments and protecting our clients’ water rights from injury.
Curtis, Justus, & Zahedi, LLC’s lawyers are also experienced in water-related areas of natural resources and environmental law. We have worked on water quality matters both in connection with and independent of water rights proceedings, including administrative rulemaking, discharge permitting, disputes involving the Safe Drinking Water Act, and proceedings before the Colorado Water Quality Control Division.
Our attorneys have experience in water-related aspects of il and gas development, including both fracking and coal bed methane produced water. We also represent clients in Section 404 Clean Water Act permitting and wetlands issues, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Wild and Scenic River designation and other environmental law issues.
